Anomalous normal-state properties of high-Tc superconductors: intrinsic properties of strongly correlated electron systems?

چکیده

A systematic study of optical and transport properties of the Hubbard model, based on the Metzner-Vollhardt dynamical mean-field approximation, is reviewed. This model shows interesting anomalous properties that are, in our opinion, ubiquitous to single-band strongly correlated systems (for all spatial dimensions greater than one) and also compare qualitatively with many anomalous transport features of the high-Tc cuprates. This anomalous behaviour of the normal-state properties is traced to a 'collective single-band Kondo effect', in which a quasiparticle resonance forms at the Fermi level as the temperature is lowered, ultimately yielding a strongly renormalized Fermi liquid at zero temperature.

Pairing Mechanism for the High-TC Superconductivity: Symmetries and Thermodynamic Properties

The pairing mechanism for the high-Tc superconductors based on the electron-phonon (EPH) and electron-electron-phonon (EEPH) interactions has been presented. On the fold mean-field level, it has been proven, that the obtained s-wave model supplements the predictions based on the BCS van Hove scenario. In particular: (i) For strong EEPH coupling and T < T(C) the energy gap (Δtot) is very weak te...

Anomalous Fluxon Properties of Layered Superconductors

Highly anisotropic layered superconductors can be considered as stacks of Josephson junctions (SJJ’s) [1, 2]. The key feature of SJJ’s is mutual coupling of junctions, which can be achieved via magnetic [3, 4], charging [5, 6] or nonequilibrium [7] coupling mechanisms. Properties of SJJ’s can be qualitatively different from that of single Josephson junctions (JJ’s) or anisotropic type-II superc...

Memory function approach to the Hall constant in strongly correlated electron systems

The anomalous properties of the Hall constant in the normal state of highTc superconductors are investigated within the single-band Hubbard model. We argue that the Mori theory is the appropriate formalism to address the Hall constant, since it aims directly at resistivities rather than conductivities. More specifically, the frequency dependent Hall constant decomposes into its infinite frequen...

ابررساناهای دمای بالا- با دید نوترونها

Neutron scattering is proved to be a vital probe in unveiling the magnetic properties of high temperature superconductors (HTSC). Detailed information about the energy and momentum dependence of the magnetic dynamics of HTSC have been obtained directly by this technique. Over the past decade by improving the crystal growth methods, large and high quality single crystals of HTSC, which are ess...

Coherence–incoherence crossover in the normal state of iron oxypnictides and importance of Hund's rule coupling

A new class of high-temperature superconductors based on iron and arsenic was recently discovered (Kamihara et al 2008 J. Am. Chem. Soc. 130 3296), with the superconducting transition temperature as high as 55K (Ren et al 2008 Chin. Phys. Lett. 25 2215). Here we show, using microscopic theory, that the normal state of the iron pnictides at high temperatures is highly anomalous, displaying a ver...
